Microsoft during the Internet Explorer era

Between Netscape Navigator's rise in 1994 and the final antitrust judgment in 2002, Microsoft turned Internet Explorer from a weak new browser into a capable free product distributed through Windows. The same campaign used access to Windows, desktop placement, contracts, and technical integration to make refusal costly for Netscape, computer makers, access providers, developers, and users.
